Charlie Andrews, the notorious jouster from the National Geographic tv show "Knights of Mayhem", will be competing at the "Lysts on the Great Lakes" jousting tournament which is being held at the Wayne County Fairgrounds just outside of Detroit, Michigan this weekend, August 10 - 11.
Charlie will be flying in from Utah, where he and his fellow Knights of Mayhem have been helping transport horses away from the wildfires that are ravaging that state. They have not only saved their own jousting horses, but have successfully helped to move all of their neighbors' horses to safety as well. These Knights of Mayhem are more chivalrous than their name implies.
As mentioned in a previous article about "Lysts on the Great Lakes", this jousting tournament will involve both a team and individual competition. Charlie will be competing on the North American International Jousters team with Steve Hemphill, Nikki Fourtzialas, Jordan Heron and Dale Gienow. They will be competing against Michigan's own jousting team, the Knights of Iron, which includes Dale Walter, Andre Renier, Kellyn Burtka and Jason Edwards Monarch. It should be an exciting tournament.
